Studio 1 at CASP presents: ‘Sun’ – the third of four exhibitions to focus on vital resources of the South Plains. For this exhibition, all projects focus on harnessing the sun – as energy, as medium, and as a dialogue. ‘Sun’ brings together art objects, modular solar panel kits, and floating habitat workspaces, as a means to approach an interdisciplinary engagement with this vital resource. Participants and speakers come from varying backgrounds in engineering (Tim Dallas, TTU), visual art (Carol Flueckiger, Andrew Lawson and Krista Steinke) and architecture (Chris Taylor).

“A profound and disturbing short experimental film that guides the viewer through sublime natural imagery with the voice of Mother Earth acting as a guide. This film challenges its very means of communication- the concept of film- and will leave you shaken. There is no substitute for nature, and certainly not a movie”. – Earth Day Film Festival
NOVEMBER 1-12, 2016
Green Screen is an annual film festival that screens movies about environmental conservation, climate change, green energy, and sustainable development.
Awarded a Grant in Photography from the Puffin Foundation to support a new project in the works called “Good Luck with the Sun”.
I love that Creative Capital features “On Our Radar” for proposals that don’t receive a grant but come close in the process. I am excited that “FLOOD”: a multi-media collaborative project in the works with my siblings Matt Steinke and Rene Steinke is featured on this year’s list. Read more about our project here:
